The Gift of Mercy


“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.” — Lamentations 3:22–23 (NIV)

As the years pass, we gain a clearer understanding of how much we depend on God’s mercy. We’ve seen our share of victories and mistakes, strong seasons and humbling ones. Through it all, God has remained faithful. As we reflect on our life, the foolish acts of our sinful nature. We.wonder how could anyone forgive us; how could anyone put up with us.  Mercy is God's steady hand, meeting us not with condemnation, but with compassion.

God’s mercy reminds us that our failures never have the final word. He does not keep score the way the world does. Each new day is a fresh start—proof that His patience has not worn thin and His love has not grown tired.

Mercy also shapes how we treat others. With wisdom earned through life’s experiences, we are called to show patience, forgiveness, and understanding. When we extend mercy, we reflect the strength and character of Christ.  It is not easy but the gift of mercy provided to us must be shared with others.


Lord, thank You for Your mercy that has carried me through every season of life. Help me walk today with humility, gratitude, and a merciful heart toward others. Thank You for all Your benefits and may Your Spirt walk with me daily, not allowing me to slip away.

Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity. But in all the seasons of life, one thing remains constant: God's faithfulness. In the book of Lamentations, Jermiah the.prophet, reflects on a time of great sorrow and hardship. Yet, he still finds reason to hope. Why? Because God’s faithfulness is unwavering. Even when circumstances seem difficult or uncertain, God’s love and compassion never fail.
