Prayer Starter - Wednesday, December 24, 2025 - The Gift of Truth


“Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.” — John 8:32 (NIV)

Truth is a precious gift from God in a world often filled with confusion and competing voices. God’s truth does not change with culture or circumstances; it remains firm and trustworthy. Through His Word, God reveals His character, His promises, and His guidance for our lives. Truth helps us see clearly, walk wisely, and stay anchored when the path feels uncertain.

Jesus reminds us that truth is more than information. Truth is found in Him. When we live by God’s truth, we experience freedom, peace, and confidence rooted in Christ. God’s truth guards our hearts, corrects our course with grace, and leads us into a life shaped by faithfulness and hope.


Dear God, 

Thank You for the gift of truth. Help me to seek Your Word daily, to recognize what is true, and to live in a way that honors You. Guard my heart from confusion and guide my steps in Your truth. 

I am praying this morning for those seeking truth. I pray for those who know the truth yet do not listen to Your message.

I pray for those in pain today; for those struggling.  May they seek Your truth and be set free.

Through the power of Jesus, I pray. Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace. Our confidence is not rooted in how tightly we hold onto God, but in how firmly He holds onto us. Through assurance, God calms anxious hearts and strengthens our faith. We move forward not in fear, but in trust—resting in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His love.
