Prayer Starter - Monday, January 26, 2026 - Psalm 1

 


Psalm 1 (NIV) (ESV)

1 Blessed is the one
    who does not walk in step with the wicked
or stand in the way that sinners take
    or sit in the company of mockers,
2 but whose delight is in the law of the Lord,
    and who meditates on his law day and night.
3 That person is like a tree planted by streams of water,
    which yields its fruit in season
and whose leaf does not wither—
    whatever they do prospers.

4 Not so the wicked!
    They are like chaff
    that the wind blows away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment,
    nor sinners in the assembly of the righteous.

6 For the Lord watches over the way of the righteous,

    but the way of the wicked leads to destruction.

Holy Father, 

Thank You for watching over our paths. May your grace lead us to righteousness. Praise You as our Savior. Thank You for planting us by Your living streams and giving us the Holy Spirit to keep us. 

Shape our hearts to delight in Your Word and to meditate on it day and night. Guard our steps from the counsel of the wicked and the paths that lead us away from You. 

Make us strong and fruitful in every season, rooted in Your truth and guided by Your Spirit. May our lives honor You and reflect Your grace to all we meet.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering.
