Prayer Starter - Monday, January 5, 2026 - A Prayer to Truly Know Jesus


Many people know about Jesus, but God invites us to truly know Him. Knowing Jesus is not just learning facts or stories. It is building a living, daily relationship with the One who loves us completely. Jesus invites us to walk with Him, listen to His voice, and trust His heart.

As we spend time in God’s Word, we discover who Jesus is: our Savior, our Shepherd, our Friend, and our Lord. We see His compassion for the hurting, His patience with the weak, and His power to forgive and restore. The more we know Him, the more our lives are shaped by His grace, truth, and love.

Getting to know Jesus changes us. Fear gives way to faith. Confusion is replaced with peace. Our purpose becomes clearer as we follow Him one day at a time. Jesus does not call us to perfection; rather He calls us to relationship.  Keep praying and get to know Him better.

“Now this is eternal life: that they know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom You have sent.” — John 17:3

Heavenly Father, I want to know Jesus more -- not just with my mind, but with my heart. Draw me closer to You. Help me recognize Your voice.  Teach me to Trust Your ways.  May your Spirit guide me to follow You daily. 

Thank You for loving me and inviting me into a real relationship with You.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." You can read the entire Psalm, but this morning use David's prayer to help you tell God why you believe His name is majestic in all the earth.  Try it! Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering. Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us. Jesus experienced human weakness, sorrow, and temptation, yet without sin, so that we could know God not just as Creator, but as Companion and Savior. The gift of Emmanuel assures us that we never face life on our own. God’s presence brings comfort, guidance, and hope. Because He is with us now, we can trust Him with our future. Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm.
