Prayer Starter - Saturday, January 31, 2026 From Tears to Trust
Good Saturday morning!
This morning let's pray using David's 6th Psalm. You can read all ten verses here.
Psalm 6 is a prayer from a weary heart. David comes to God in pain, admitting his weakness and fear, yet still clinging to God’s mercy. He does not hide his tears - he actually brings them to the Lord. In the middle of his distress, David remembers who God is: compassionate, faithful, and attentive to every cry.
This psalm reminds us that prayer is not just for moments of strength, but especially for moments of exhaustion. When our hearts feel heavy and our spirits feel worn, God invites us to come just as we are. Like David, we can move from sorrow to trust, confident that the Lord hears us and will restore our peace.
Have mercy on me, Lord, for I am faint;
heal me, Lord, for my bones are in agony .
3 My soul is in deep anguish.
How long, Lord, how long? (vs 2 - 3)
Away from me, all you who do evil,
for the Lord has heard my weeping.
9 The Lord has heard my cry for mercy;
the Lord accepts my prayer. (vs 8 - 9)
I hope your heart is not too heavy nor your spirit worn out, but if it is, this is the prayer for you.
Merciful Father, when my heart feels weak and my spirit is tired, I come to You. Hear my cry, renew my strength today. Lord, remind me of Your unfailing love.
You have heard my crys (be as specific as you can). Bless me by accepting my prayers.
In Your Son's Name, I pray, Amen.
Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
