Prayer Starter - Sunday, January 11, 2026 A Prayer for True North



A compass is designed to point true north, helping travelers stay on course even when the path ahead is unclear. In much the same way, Jesus provides direction for our lives. When He said, “Whoever wants to be my disciple must deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me” (Matthew 16:24), He invited us to set our direction by Him alone.

Life often presents crossroads, distractions, and detours. Feelings, opinions, and circumstances can pull us off course. But when Jesus is our true north, His words and example keep us aligned with God’s will. “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

Following Jesus does not mean the journey is easy, but it does mean we are not wandering aimlessly. As we fix our hearts on Christ, He faithfully guides our steps, leading us toward purpose, peace, and life with Him. 

Jesus, You are my true north. When I feel uncertain or distracted, help me fix my heart on You. Align my thoughts, my choices, and my steps with Your will. Teach me to trust Your direction, even when the path ahead is unclear. Give me courage to follow where You lead and faith to keep walking in obedience. 

I pray Your Spirit will continue to guide and protect me.  May my life point others toward You as I follow You each day.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace.
