Prayer Starter - Sunday, January 18, 2026 Growing in Knowing Jesus

 

As the years pass and the seasons of life change, one beautiful truth remains: we never stop growing in our relationship with Jesus. For many of you, your walk with Christ has stretched across decades -.through joys and sorrows. Each step has shaped a deeper, richer understanding of who He is and how faithful He has been.

Looking back, you can often see His hand more clearly than you could in the moment. The prayers He answered or even the trials He used to strengthen your faith all become part of your testimony. Your life itself is a living witness to God’s grace, patience, and enduring love.

Yet knowing Jesus is not only about remembering the past; it is also about trusting Him with today and tomorrow. He continues to walk beside you, offering peace for the present and hope for what lies ahead. Your journey with Him is still unfolding, and your faith continues to shine as a blessing to those who follow after you.

 “The righteous will flourish like a palm tree, they will grow like a cedar of Lebanon; planted in the house of the Lord, they will flourish." Psalm 92:12–13 (NIV)

Holy Father,

Thank You for.giving me a life with Jesus. While I have not always been faithful, You have.  Thank You for sending Jesus to.walk with me through my journey,  guiding me, protecting me, and teaching me along the way.

This morning as I prepare for the day I want to lift uo to You those in need. I pray for those ill, for those shut in, for those who may be lonely because they do not know You

I pray for our children and grandchildren. I pray they will know You.

I pray for our church leadership - that they will have and exhibit great faith. I pray for our worship today. May we bring glory to Your Name.

In Jesus' Name, Amen

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering. Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us. Jesus experienced human weakness, sorrow, and temptation, yet without sin, so that we could know God not just as Creator, but as Companion and Savior. Assurance is God’s gift of steady confidence in His promises. In a world filled with uncertainty, God offers His children the peace of knowing that our salvation, hope, and future rest securely in Him—not in our own strength or performance. “I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God so that you may know that you have eternal life.” — 1 John 5:13 God’s assurance reminds us that we belong to Him. When doubts arise or fears whisper that we are not enough, His Word speaks truth: we are held by His grace. Our confidence is not rooted in how tightly we hold onto God, but in how firmly He holds onto us. Through assurance, God calms anxious hearts and strengthens our faith. We move forward not in fear, but in trust—resting in the certainty that nothing can separate us from His love.
