Prayer Starter - Sunday, January 4, 2026 A Sunday prayer for reflection and hope


This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.” — Psalm 118:24


On this Sunday, we rejoice in God’s faithfulness through every season of life. As a new year unfolds, we rest in His promises and trust Him with each day He graciously gives us. No matter your status with the Lord this morning. He is still at the door - waiting for you. Give Him a little talk. 

Gracious God, thank You for the gift of this new day and the many years You have faithfully walked with us. As we enter another season of life, we place our trust in You once again. Guide our steps, strengthen our hearts, and fill our days with peace. 

Bless our families, our church, and our time ahead. Help us continue to live with faith, gratitude, and hope, trusting You with all that is yet to come. 

In the precious Name of our Lord, Jesus. Amen.

Today's Prayer Starter Good morning! As we begin this five day journey of praying specifically to build our relationship with God, let's start with a prayer of adoration. In Psalm 8 , David prays a prayer of adoration.  "O Lord, our Lord, how majestic is Your name in all the earth! You have set Your glory above the heavens. Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering. Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us. Jesus experienced human weakness, sorrow, and temptation, yet without sin, so that we could know God not just as Creator, but as Companion and Savior. The gift of Emmanuel assures us that we never face life on our own. God’s presence brings comfort, guidance, and hope. Because He is with us now, we can trust Him with our future. Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm.
