Prayer Starter - Tuesday, January 20, Discernment


“Give your servant therefore an understanding mind to govern your people, that I may discern between good and evil, for who is able to govern this your great people?”—1 Kings 3:9

Good Morning, Prayer Warrior-

Solomon stood at the beginning of leadership not asking for power, wealth, or ease; rather for an understanding heart. His prayer reminds us that true wisdom begins with humility before God. Discernment is not simply knowing right from wrong; it is learning to hear God’s voice in the middle of many competing voices.

Each day we face decisions that shape our words, our actions, and our witness. Like Solomon, we are invited to come before God and ask for hearts that are attentive, minds that are guided by truth, and spirits that are sensitive to His leading.

When we seek God’s wisdom first, He faithfully helps us walk in what is good, pleasing, and honoring to Him.  No matter where you are in your life - some of you may still be in places of leadership and this prayer makes a lot of sense; but even if you are not, you still make choices every day. Pray for a heart that discerns the will of God.

Lord, give me an understanding heart today. Help me discern what is right, choose what is pleasing to You, and walk with Your wisdom in every decision I face. 

Continue your personal prayer to God. Let Him hear your thoughts and concerns and may His Spirit guide you to a perfect understanding of His will.

In the Name of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering.
