Prayer Starter - Tuesday, February 24, 2026 God is our Refuge Psalm 46-48

Good morning, Prayer Partner -

Join me in reading Psalms 46–48

Excerpts:

God is our refuge and strength,
    an ever-present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way
and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, (Psalm 46:1-2)

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise,
in the city of our God, his holy mountain. (Psalm 48:1)

These three psalms lift our eyes above the noise and uncertainty of the world and remind us of the one steady truth: God is our refuge. Nations may rage, circumstances may shift, and life can feel unsettled, but the presence of God remains unshaken. He is not far, from the chaos,  In fact, He is with His people in the middle of all the noise.

Psalm 46 assures us that even when the earth seems to give way, God is a safe place to shelter. He is strength when we feel weak and peace when everything around us feels unstable. The psalm calls us to “be still” and remember that He is God. In stillness, we rediscover that our hope is not built on changing circumstances but on His unchanging character.

Psalms 47 and 48 turn our hearts toward praise. God is not only our refuge; He is our King. He reigns over all nations and all time. These psalms celebrate His power, His presence, and His faithfulness to His people. When we recognize that God reigns, our fears begin to shrink and our confidence grows.

We trust because God is our refuge. We worship because God is our King. Whatever this week holds, we can face it with confidence knowing that the Lord of all the earth is near and He is faithful.

God, You are my refuge and my strength. When life feels uncertain, help me be still and remember that You are in control. Fill my heart with confidence in Your presence and lead me to praise You as the King over all. Through the power of Jesus, Amen.
