Prayer Starter - Friday, March 13, 2026 Listening to God & Living Justly

Psalms 81 and 82 remind us that faith is more than singing praises—it is listening to God and living in a way that reflects His heart. Psalm 81 begins with joyful worship, celebrating how God rescued His people and cared for them. Yet God also expresses sadness that His people often refused to listen to His voice. He wanted to guide them and bless them, but they chose their own path instead.

Psalm 82 shifts our attention to justice. God speaks to leaders and those with authority, reminding them that they are responsible for protecting the weak, the poor, and those who cannot defend themselves. God sees how people are treated, and He cares deeply that justice and fairness are practiced.

Together, these psalms teach a simple but powerful truth: God wants His people to listen to Him and live out His character in the world. Worship is important, but true faith also shows up in the way we treat others—with fairness, compassion, and humility.

When we listen to God’s voice and seek to do what is right, our lives reflect the goodness and justice of the Lord.

Good morning, Lord. Help me listen to Your voice and follow Your guidance. Teach me to live with integrity and to treat others with fairness and compassion. Open my heart to Your wisdom so that my life reflects Your goodness and justice each day. Continue your prayer to God... pray for your family, your church, our state and national leaders.

Through the precious Name of Jesus, I pray. Amen.
