Prayer Starter - Friday, March 6, 2026 Psalm 70 Lord, Come Quickly
Psalm 70 is one of the shortest psalms, yet it carries a powerful message about prayer. It is a simple and urgent cry: “Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, Lord, to help me.” Sometimes life brings moments when we don’t have long, polished prayers. All we can do is call out to God for help.
This psalm reminds us that God welcomes those honest cries. When we feel overwhelmed, pressured, or uncertain, we can turn to Him immediately. He is not distant or slow to hear. The writer has once concer - he needs God; and he needs Him now.
But the psalm does not end with desperation. It closes with hope: “But as for me, I am poor and needy; come quickly to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer.” Even in urgency, the psalmist knows where his help comes from.
Psalm 70 teaches us that prayer doesn’t have to be complicated. Sometimes the most powerful prayer is simply calling out to God with a trusting heart. When we ask for help, we are reminding ourselves that He is our rescuer and our hope.

Lord, come quickly to help me when I feel overwhelmed. You are my help and my deliverer. Strengthen my heart, calm my fears. Remind me that You are always near. I trust You to guide and sustain me.
Through the Power of Jesus, Amen.
