Prayer Starter - Saturday, March 14, 2026 Psalm 83 Pray in Confidence

O God, do not keep silence;

    do not hold your peace or be still, O God!

 Psalm 83 is a prayer spoken during a time when God’s people felt surrounded by enemies and uncertain about the future. The psalmist cries out to God, asking Him not to remain silent while trouble grows around them. It is an honest request for God to step in and defend His people.

What stands out in this psalm is that the writer does not rely on his own strength. Instead, he turns directly to God for help. He asks the Lord to act in such a way that everyone will recognize God’s power and authority. The desire is not just for victory, but for the world to know that the Lord alone is the Most High.

We do not have to face struggles alone. God sees what is happening, and He is able to act in ways we cannot.  As we have learned from so many of these psalms, God wants us to come to Him when we are feeling overwhelmed, lost or confused.

When we face times of uncertainty, this psalm encourages us to pray with confidence, trusting that God is aware of our situation and able to guide, protect, and bring justice in His time.

Lord, when life feels overwhelming and problems surround me, help me turn to You first. Remind me that You are powerful and in control.

Guide my steps, protect what is right, and help my life show that You alone are the true God.

When my faith is weak, send Your angels to remind me. When my enemy is attacking me, provide me a shield to protect and defend.

When I am overwhelmed, may Your Spirit be my eyes.

Thank You for Jesus, who lived and died for me. Amen.

Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
