Prayer Starter - Sunday, March 15, 2026 Psalm 84 One Day with You!


Better is One Day (Instrumental Song) based roughly on Psalm 84.

Verses 8 - 12

Hear my prayer, Lord God Almighty;

    listen to me, God of Jacob.

9 Look on our shield,[e] O God;

    look with favor on your anointed one.


10 Better is one day in your courts

    than a thousand elsewhere;

I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God

    than dwell in the tents of the wicked.

11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield;

    the Lord bestows favor and honor;

no good thing does he withhold

    from those whose walk is blameless.

12 Lord Almighty,

    blessed is the one who trusts in you.

Psalm 84 celebrates the deep joy that comes from being close to God. The writer expresses how much he longs to be in the Lord’s presence, saying that even one day with God is better than a thousand days anywhere else. Life is not about where we go or what we have, rather  it is about walking with God.

This psalm reminds us that real strength and happiness come when we stay close to Him. When we seek God daily, He gives us the courage, peace, and joy we need for every step of life.  I pray that each of us may grow in Christ so we can each sing this song daily!

Oh, Awesome God,

Please hear my prayer. My soul waits for You. My heart cries out for You, Lord.

I want to learn to be joyful in Your presence over anything else.  Help me be content with knowing You.  I want to walk with You. May Your Spirit teach me to be focused on Your will.

As I prepare to worship You this morning may I lift You uo in praise and thanksgiving. May my life reflect Your love and grace to those You put me in touch. May I always bring honor and glory to Your name.

Because of Jesus, I pray.  Amen.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering.
