Prayer Starter - Sunday, March 22, 2026 Holy is the Lord - Psalm 99

 


Good Morning, Prayer Warrior!  Let's read the 99th Psalm to get ready to worship today.

The Lord reigns; let the peoples tremble!
    He sits enthroned upon the cherubim; let the earth quake!
 The Lord is great in Zion;
    he is exalted over all the peoples.
 Let them praise your great and awesome name!
    Holy is he!
 The King in his might loves justice.
    You have established equity;
you have executed justice
    and righteousness in Jacob.
 Exalt the Lord our God;
    worship at his footstool!
    Holy is he!

 Moses and Aaron were among his priests,
    Samuel also was among those who called upon his name.
    They called to the Lord, and he answered them.

In the pillar of the cloud he spoke to them;
    they kept his testimonies
    and the statute that he gave them.

 O Lord our God, you answered them;
    you were a forgiving God to them,
    but an avenger of their wrongdoings.
 Exalt the Lord our God,
    and worship at his holy mountain;
    for the Lord our God is holy!   Psalms 99 ESV

The message from Psalm 99 reminds us that God is not only powerful - He is holy. He reigns over all the earth with justice and righteousness, and everything about Him is pure and right. This psalm calls us to stand in awe of God, to recognize His greatness, and to honor Him with reverence.

It is a song of beautiful balance; where God is both holy and near. He answered His people when they called on Him, showing that while He is exalted above all, He still listens and responds to those who seek Him.

Psalm 99 encourages us to approach God with both confidence and respect.  We know He loves us, yet we always remember that He is worthy of our highest honor.  Let's pray:

Holy God, You are righteous and worthy of all honor. Help me to live with reverence and respect for who You are. Thank You for being near and listening when I call. 

Teach me to walk in Your ways and reflect Your holiness in my life. May those around me see You as the Lord God, most Holy.

Merry Christmas.  Good morning, friend: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us ). — Matthew 1:23 From the very beginning, God’s desire has been to dwell with His people. The promise of Emmanuel - God with us  — is the fulfillment of that longing. In Jesus Christ, God did not remain distant or unreachable. He stepped into our world, our struggles, and our suffering. Emmanuel reminds us that God is present in every season of life. When we feel alone, He is with us. When we walk through uncertainty, He walks beside us.
