Saturday, April 4, 2026 Psalm 116-117 Quiet Hope
Psalm 117
1 Praise the Lord, all you nations;
extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us,
and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord
Good Morning, Prayer Warrior. Saturday. Jesus has died. Can you imagine how the Disciples were feeling? The Psalmist writes about death - only to predict what would happen to Jesus. Yet tomorrow the Resurrection will take place. We go from Sin & Death to the Resurrection and Salvation.
Listen to Psalm 116. It begins in the shadow of death: “The cords of death entangled me… the anguish of the grave came over me.” It is a cry from someone who has felt the weight of suffering and despair. But it does not end there: “You, Lord, have delivered me from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from stumbling.”
These words point us toward the resurrection. What was true in part for the psalmist becomes fully true in Jesus. He entered into death itself and then walked out of the grave.
Psalm 117, the shortest psalm, becomes the natural response: “Praise the Lord, all you nations… for great is His love toward us.” What begins in rescue ends in worship. What starts in sorrow ends in global praise.
Because Jesus rose, deliverance is not temporary - it is eternal. And the invitation is not limited - it is for all people.
Heavenly Lord, thank You for delivering us from sin and death through Jesus. Turn my heart from fear to praise, and help me to live each day in the joy of Your salvation. Let my life reflect the hope of the resurrection.
May I always sing Psalm 117, "Praise You, Lord and the Nations!"
"For great is Your love towards us and Your faithfulness endures forever.
In Your Son's Name, Amen
