Sunday, April 13, 2026 Psalm 120 to 123 A Journey to Worship

Psalm 120 begins with a cry for help. Surrounded by deceit and conflict, the psalmist longs for peace in a world filled with hostility. It reminds us that when we feel overwhelmed or misunderstood, our first response should be to call on the Lord, who hears and answers. From distress to confidence we move to Psalm 121. Looking toward the hills, the psalmist declares that true help comes from the Lord, the Creator of heaven and earth. God is our constant protector. He neither slumbers nor sleeps and faithfully watches over every step of our lives.  We wrap up this morning verses with Psalm 122.

Here the writer culminates our thoughts  in joy and anticipation. The psalmist rejoices at the invitation to go to the house of the Lord, celebrating unity, peace, and the blessing of worshiping together with God’s people.

This morning as you go to the house of worship, I hope your journey moves you to joyful worship. Let us pray.

Heavenly Father,

When I feel surrounded by conflict and uncertainty, help me to call on You with confidence. Thank You for being my constant protector and faithful guide. Fill my heart with joy as I worship You, and help me to seek the peace and unity of Your people.

In Jesus’ name, Amen.
