Sunday, April 5, 2026 Psalm 118 – Victory & new life
Read Psalm 118 - it is a song of victory, and through the resurrection of Jesus, we see its fullest meaning.
“The stone the builders rejected has become the cornerstone” (v. 22). What was rejected on the cross became the foundation of our salvation. Jesus was cast aside, mocked, and crucified - but on the third day, He rose. God took what looked like defeat and turned it into eternal victory.
“I will not die but live, and will proclaim what the Lord has done” (v. 17). These words echo the empty tomb. Death could not hold Him. And because He lives, we are no longer bound by sin, fear, or despair. His victory becomes our hope.
“This is the day the Lord has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it” (v. 24). Easter reminds us that every day is now shaped by resurrection power - new life, new mercy, new purpose.
Through Jesus, the rejected become redeemed, the broken become restored, and the defeated become victorious. Praise the Lord!
Lord, thank You for the victory of Jesus. Thank You that the grave is empty and hope is alive. Help me to live each day in the joy of Your salvation and to trust that You are still turning defeat into victory.
Thank You for today. May many attend worship services and may many return to know You.
Because of Him; Amen.
Happy Easter Everyone. Happy Lord's Day. We celebrate the resurrection every Sunday!
