Monday, May 11, 2026 Monday's Relationships

Monday reminds us that much of life is lived in relationships — at home, at work, and within our communities. In Proverbs 17–18, Solomon teaches that wise words bring healing, while careless words create conflict. Pride divides people, but humility opens the door to peace and understanding.

From these chapters we can learn to slow down before speaking, listen before reacting, and choose kindness over winning an argument. Our words carry power. They can tear down or build up. As we begin this week, may we ask God to help us become people who speak truth with grace, offer forgiveness quickly, and bring peace wherever we go.

Whoever isolates himself seeks his own desire;
    he breaks out against all sound judgment.
A fool takes no pleasure in understanding,
    but only in expressing his opinion.  (Proverbs 18:1-2 ESV)

Let's pray:

Good morning, Holy Father and Lord Almighty.

Thank You for the recent rains.  Thank You for blessing us in all we do. You are so - so good. Thank You, Father!  Thank You for these proverbs, which teach us so much. One of my favorites is 18:22:

He who finds a wife finds a good thing
    and obtains favor from the Lord.

This morning, I want to lift up to You in prayer, (List Your Family, Friends, anyone you wish to pray for - don't know - see our prayer list).

Father God, I also pray that I can learn to be humble and listen before I speak. Help me to build up, rather than tear down.  Give me time to read these inspired messages and apply them to my life. Forgive me for my sins.

In Jesus' Name,

Amen
