Tuesday, May 12, 2026 Praying for Chacter, Humility and Godly Living

For the rest of the week, the proverbs we will read focus on character, humility, and godly living.  This morning read Proverbs 19–20.

The writer reminds us that godly character is not built in a single moment, but through daily choices shaped by humility, patience, and self-control.  These verses call on us to slow down, listen carefully, and walk with integrity. Often hard to do since our world rewards self-promotion and quick reactions.

Wisdom teaches us that patience is stronger than anger, honesty is more valuable than success gained unfairly, and self-control protects both our relationships. Godly living is often quiet and steady. Godly living is choosing kindness when frustrated. Godly living is remaining faithful when unnoticed and trusting God rather than demanding our own way.

Let's pray as we grow in character that we can reflect the heart of Christ to those around us.

Heavenly Father,
Thank You for Your patience, grace, and love toward us each day. Help us grow in character, humility, and self-control. Teach us to speak with kindness, act with integrity, and walk in wisdom. When we are frustrated, give us patience. When we are tempted to react harshly, fill our hearts with peace.

Continue your personal prayer.

May our lives reflect the heart of Jesus to those around us. Let our words encourage, our actions honor You, and our attitudes point others toward Your love and truth. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Listen to advice and accept discipline,
and at the end you will be counted among the wise.
