Tuesday, May 19, 2026 Prayer for Wise Friends (Proverbs 27)

Read Proverbs 27 when you have a chance. You will recognize some famous proverbs that are often shared.  Verse 1 is a great example:

Do not boast about tomorrow,
for you do not know what a day may bring (Verse 1)

Another I like:

As iron sharpens iron,
so one person sharpens another.  (verse 17)

Proverbs 27 reminds us of the value of faithful friendships, honest encouragement, and daily spiritual growth. “Iron sharpens iron” teaches us that God often uses other people to strengthen our faith and shape our character.

The holy writer also reminds us not to boast about tomorrow because life is fragile and every day is a gift from God. Spiritual wisdom calls us to live humbly, speak truth with love, and care faithfully for the relationships and responsibilities God has given us today.

Father, thank You for the people You place in my life to encourage, challenge, and strengthen me. Help me to walk humbly and wisely each day, trusting You with tomorrow.

Teach me to use my words to build others up and to reflect the love and truth of Christ in my relationships. Shape my heart so I may grow stronger in faith and character every day.  Send me to others that I can encourage and help me recognize those You send me.

Continue your personal prayer. Build that relationship with God.

Because of Jesus, I pray; Amen.

Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
