Tuesday, June 16, 2026 Pray Like Jesus (John 17)
Good Morning.
Thinking back one final time on Sunday's sermon from John 17, what is one more thing we can learn from the way Jesus prayed?
He spoke to God in a personal, relationshfp tone. He started His prayer with by calling in God as Father. And he spoke honestly.
Remember to pray specifically for others. In the 26 verses of this chapter, Jesus prayed for himself in 5 verses and for others in the rest. Our ratio is usually backwards. Begin today to pray for others more than yourself.
Father, this morning I come to You with an open heart ready to get to know You - really know You. My prayer this morning is for specific people I know that need your love, grace and guidance.
Continue your honest conversation with Him.
Here is my personal prayer for specific people. If you know these folks, pray along with me; otherwise, pray for your friends.
Lord, I pray for Charlie - that his health questions will be resolved. I pray for Lois' upcoming knee surgery; for Susie's upcoming heart surgery.
I pray for Randll that he will continue to walk in faith even while he is in pain. I pray for his cousins and their child. Find healing for them and comfort in your spirit.
I want to continue to pray for Linda W, who is home, but still suffering. She is Your servant, Lord, and she will always shine the love of Jesus to others. I petition You, Father, help comfort her and heal her.
I pray for the Elders and ministers of our church. May they always reflect the light of Your word and may they lead us to the love and joy found in Your Son.
Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
