Tuesday, June 2, 2026 # 3 Father, Thank You for Hearing Me

Father, Thank You for Hearing Me

Scripture: John 11:41–42

Standing before the tomb of Lazarus, Jesus faced what seemed impossible. Lazarus had been dead for four days. Yet before He called Lazarus from the grave, Jesus first looked toward heaven and prayed, “Father, I thank You that You have heard Me.”

Notice that Jesus thanked the Father before the miracle occurred. (Two prayers in a row of this behavior).  His confidence was not based on what He could see but on His relationship with the Father. Jesus knew that God heard Him and that God was at work, even before the answer became visible.

As adults, we often pray while carrying burdens, uncertainty, and unanswered questions. Jesus reminds us that prayer is not simply asking for help - rather, prayer is trusting that God hears us. We may not always know when or how God will answer, but we can rest in the confidence that our Father listens to His children.

Today, thank God not only for answered prayers but also for the assurance that He hears every prayer you bring before Him.

Father, thank You for hearing me even when I cannot yet see the answer. Help me trust Your power, Your timing, and Your goodness. Give me the faith to thank You before the miracle, knowing that You are always at work for Your glory and my good.

Continue your personal prayer.

In Jesus' name, Amen.
