Wednesday, June 17, 2026 Morning Prayer

"Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed."
Mark 1:35

I am not a morning person. But when it comes to Jesus and praying, we know He was. He would pray all night. Whether we pray in the morning or throughout the day, the time we spend praying is more important than when.  However, scripture does suggest that it helps our day if we start out with some time with the God, the Father.

"In the morning, Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait expectantly."  Psalm 5:3

"Let the morning bring me word of your unfailing love, for I have put my trust in you." Psalm 143:8

Pray with me:

Lord, in the morning You hear my voice —
before the day begins, I bring my requests to You and wait in expectation.

Let me hear of Your steadfast love when I rise,
for in You alone I have put my trust.

Like Your Son who withdrew before dawn to a solitary place,
teach me to make space for You before all else —
to pray before I plan, to seek before I speak.

May every morning begin at Your feet.

Because of Jesus - Amen

Lord, Lead me to one soul today.
