  Joshua 1:9 (a command, not even a prayer) "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." Praying it:   God, You're commanding me to be strong here, not just hoping I will be. So I'm asking You for that strength today -  [the specific thing you're dreading].   I feel discouraged about it, but You said You'd be with me wherever I go, so that includes there. Help me actually act courageous, not just feel less afraid.   Because of Jesus, my Savior, Amen. This is a special prayer. You might not need it today, but keep this prayer available because we all know that from time to time we need to be told to "be strong and courageous." Lord, Lead me to one soul today. 1 Chronicles 4:10 – Jabez's Prayer for Blessing and Protection "Jabez called upon the God of Israel, saying, 'Oh that you would bless me and enlarge my border, and that your hand might be with me, and that you would keep me from harm so that it might not bring me pain!' I looked into why so many of us struggle to pray, and the #1 answer was basically: "I have no idea what to say." Sound familiar? Think of prayer as a conversation - except God already started it. He's been talking to us this whole time through His Word. So praying isn't about coming up with something profound to say first. It's just responding to what He already said (through the reading of His Word). Honestly, that takes so much pressure off. I don't need to feel "spiritual" or have it together before I pray. I just open the Bible, read a bit, and talk to God about it. That's it.
