Psalm 102 is a prayer from someone who is hurting deeply - physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The writer feels alone, weak, and forgotten. For anyone who has lost a loved one, these words can feel very familiar. Grief has a way of draining strength, quieting joy, and making even ordinary days feel heavy. For many of my prayer warrior friends, we have loss of friends or family members recently. It can hurt. The psalmist says, “I am like a desert owl… I lie awake; I have become like a bird alone on a roof” (Psalm 102:6–7). Loss often brings that same loneliness. Even when surrounded by others, the absence of someone we love leaves a space that cannot be easily filled. Yet Psalm 102 does not end in sorrow—it turns toward hope. In verse 12, the tone shifts: “But you, Lord, sit enthroned forever.” While our lives feel fragile and changing, God remains steady and unchanging. Let All the Earth Sing. - Psalm 96 to 98 These psalms expand the vision of worship beyond one nation to the whole world. “Sing to the Lord, all the earth.” God’s glory is meant to be known everywhere. There is also a forward-looking hope - God is coming to judge the earth with righteousness and fairness. This is not something to fear, but something to celebrate, because His justice is perfect. Give unto the Lord the glory due unto his name: bring an offering, and come into his courts. O worship the Lord in the beauty of holiness: fear before him, all the earth.   PSALM 96:8-9 God’s goodness is for everyone. Share it and celebrate it! Lord, let my life be a song of praise to You.   Psalms 91 and 92 remind us that our strength and security come from staying close to God. Psalm 91 paints a beautiful picture of God as our refuge - a place of safety in times of trouble. It doesn’t promise a life without challenges, but it assures us that we are not alone. God watches over us, protects us, and walks with us through every situation. Psalm 92 shifts our focus to praise. It reminds us that it is good to thank the Lord and celebrate His faithfulness. While the world may feel uncertain, God remains steady.  The psalm encourages us to stay rooted in Him, like trees planted and flourishing, continuing to grow and bear fruit in every season of life. Together, these psalms teach us to both trust and praise -  to rest in God’s protection and to respond with a heart of gratitude.
