Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 2, 2025 Sealed by His Spirit


The study of Ephesians highlights the central role of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer. Paul reminds us that the Spirit is both our seal and our strength.

In Ephesians 1:13–14, he writes that when we believed in Christ, we were “marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit, who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God’s possession.” The Spirit is God’s personal mark of ownership upon us, a guarantee that we belong to Him and will one day share fully in His eternal promises.

But the Spirit is not only a seal of future hope. Paul also describes Him as our present source of strength. In Ephesians 3:16, Paul prays that believers would be “strengthened with power through his Spirit in your inner being.” The Spirit renews, empowers, and equips us daily to walk in Christ’s love. He is the one who helps us live out unity, holiness, and perseverance in a world full of distractions and trials.

Through the Spirit, we are able to resist sin, grow in wisdom, and experience fellowship with God. He is the constant presence of God within us, guiding, comforting, and reminding us of our identity in Christ.

So today, let us pause and remember: we are sealed, strengthened, and sent out by the Spirit. Our call is to “be filled with the Spirit” (Ephesians 5:18), allowing Him to shape our thoughts, words, and actions so that the Jesus's life my shine from our life!


Heavenly Father, thank You for the gift of Your Spirit who marks us as Your own and strengthens us each day. 

Help us to walk in step with Your Spirit, listening for His voice and yielding to His guidance. 

May our lives reflect Your love, truth, and power through the Spirit at work within us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Out of the mouth of babies and infants, You have established strength because of yor foes, to still the enemy and the avenger." Prayer Starter - Thursday, June 26, 2025 Pray for a Helicopter

Good Morning, I hope you won't be offended, but I want to share an old joke with you that drives home an important point regarding what the Bible tells us about prayer and trusting in God. A religious man was trapped on the roof of his house during a bad flood. He prayed to God to save him. Before the waters were too high, a neighbor drove by and offered to take him in his truck before the water rose. He declined the offer and said "God will save me."  As the water rose, vehicles could no longer drive by and a Fire & Rescue crew came by in a boat. Again, an offer for rescue and again, the religious man said, he would wait upon the Lord.  Finally the water is destroying the house and it is near the lower levels of the roof. Another rescue attempt this time by helicopter, offers to whisk him away to safely and he declines, relying on God to save him, only to die in the great storm. Lamentations 3:22-23 (NIV) "Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness." As we grow older, life often brings unexpected challenges—health concerns, changes in relationships, and the reality of life's brevity.
