Prayer Starter - Monday, October 13, 2025

Good Morning Friend, As we wake up today, let's reflect on this passage found in Ezekiel 8.   I was reading about Ezekiel and how God was working on the prophet, helping him see the problems with the people and their sins.  God was guiding Ezekiel to dig and learn. This morning, let's pray and ask God to help us  learn as we dig into His word. Heavenly Father, We come to You with thankful hearts, knowing that You are wise and powerful. In Your Word, You spoke to Ezekiel and gave him a lesson that still teaches us today. You said, “Then said he unto me, Son of man, dig now in the wall: and when I had digged in the wall, behold a door.” (Ezekiel 8:8, KJV) We thank You, Lord, for giving us a way to come close to You and learn more about ourselves. Just like Ezekiel dug into the wall and found a door, help us to look deep inside our own hearts. Give us courage to face the walls we’ve built—walls that keep us from being honest with You and with others. Sometimes we’re afraid o...

Prayer Starter - October 12, 2025 - I Thess 5 Prayer of Light, Hope, and Faithfulness

Image
A Prayer of Light, Hope, and Faithfulness (based on 1 Thessalonians 5) Heavenly Father, We come before You in awe of Your power and grace. You alone hold the times and seasons in Your hands. We know that the day of the Lord will come like a thief in the night, sudden and sure. Help us not to be found asleep or distracted, but awake, alert, and sober, as children of the light and of the day. Lord, clothe us with faith and love as our breastplate, and let the hope of salvation guard our minds like a helmet. Thank You that we are not appointed to wrath, but to receive salvation through Your Son, Jesus Christ—who died for us, that whether we are awake or asleep, we may live with Him forever. Make us encouragers, Lord. Let us build one another up in truth and love. Teach us to honor those who labor in Your name and shepherd Your flock. Give us patience with all—courage to admonish the idle, compassion to lift the weak, and strength to pursue peace in every relationship. Help us ...

Prayer Starter - Friday, October 10, 2025 Prayer of Permission

Image
Good morning, Prayer Friend, Today's focus is for all of us, but particular my friends who have loved ones that are suffering and near  the end of life on earth. It just happens that across the country, I have a few friends in this situation.   All of us will at some point in time, so if this isn't your prayer today, save it for a time when you might need it.  My Father-in-law always said it was important to give people permission to transfer to the "home office." So with the blessing of the Holy Spirit, I hope I can share some words of encouragment in this prayer: Loving Father, I bring my dear one before You—my heart aches, but I trust in Your mercy and love. You have walked with us through so many seasons, and now, as they near the doorway to heaven, I ask You to hold them close. Surround them with Your peace that surpasses understanding. Take away every fear and every pain. Let them feel Your presence, warm and steady, guiding them home. Lord, thank You for th...

Prayer Starter - Thursday, October 9, 2025 Be Kind!

Image
Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.” — Ephesians 4:32 (NIV) Kindness is more than being polite—it’s the visible expression of God’s love at work in us. When we choose kindness, especially when it’s not easy, we mirror the heart of Christ. His kindness toward us was not earned; it was freely given, even when we were undeserving. Every act of kindness—whether a word of encouragement, a listening ear, or a helping hand—becomes a small glimpse of God’s kingdom here on earth. Our world is often hurried and harsh, but the believer’s call is to stand apart, clothed with compassion and grace. Take a moment today to ask: Who can I show kindness to? It might be a friend in need, a stranger in line, or someone who has wronged you. As you do, remember—every time you extend kindness, you’re reflecting the love of Christ Himself. Heavenly Father, Thank You for showing us what true kindness looks like through Your Son, Jesus Christ....

Prayer Starter - Wednesday, October 8, 2025 God with us!

“The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.” — Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) No matter where we are or what we face, God’s presence is constant. He is not a distant observer but an active, loving Father who walks beside us. When life feels uncertain, His presence is our assurance. When our hearts grow weary, His love quiets our fears. Take a moment today to simply breathe and remind yourself, "I am  never alone." The same God who rejoices over you is with you now—strengthening, guiding, and loving you beyond measure. Heavenly Father, I pause in this moment to recognize that You are here with me. Your presence fills every space and brings peace to my heart as I  seek You. Thank You for being near—guiding, comforting, and sustaining me even when I am unaware or forgetful.  Help me to walk with awareness of Your Spirit today, listening for Your voice and re...

Prayer Starter - Tuesday, October 7, 2025 Walk and Pray

Image
Throughout God's word we see the term "walk" as it describes our life with Jesus. Eph.5:1-2 Follow God’s example, therefore, as dearly loved children  and walk in the way of love, just as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us as a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God. This morning meditate on how God has walked alongside you over the years.  Sure there have been challenging times. Times you thought, 'Hey, where is God?' - only to realize years later He was with you all the time. You might be in such a time as this- wondering where is God. You might be in a time where you are ignoring Him in your life walk.  Hopefully, you are experiencing the joy of walking with Him right now. Whatever your circumstances, just have a little talk with Him this morning. Dear God,   Thank You for walking with me. Please rein me in when I wonderful off.  Please send Your Spirit to keep me on the path You have paved for me. I am thankful to You, Lord, for all the b...
